What are the Internet Television Awards?
The Internet Television Awards permits Internet voters to choose which programs and actors are their favorite of the past year. Nominations in the 8 categories were decided by the Internet Entertainment Writers Association (IEWA), comprised of journalists who write on a broad spectrum of entertainment topics and publish their work on the World Wide Web. Once nominations are announced, voting is then opened to the public. This annual event was launched in August of 2003 and is based on the Internet Movie Awards, which began in August of 1999.
What is the nomination/voting process?
In July, members of the Internet Entertainment Writers Association were asked for nominations in 8 categories, from first run television programs that aired domestically during the past 12 months.
From the lists of nominations, the top vote getters were placed on the ballots and announced publicly; voting is now open to the public until August 25, 2006.
